Concept: Market your own video game!
In Odyssey
Gamers, teams of students will master key computer applications (Powerpoint, Excel, web design software) to market their own computer video game. Teams will pitch their concept to a panel of industry “buyers” who are looking for a hot, new educational game for 10 to 15-year-olds.

Odyssey Transformers
Concept: Use robotics to transform your life!
Teams compete to build and operate their own robots. You’ll learn the technology necessary to operate your robot as part of one of the most exciting technologies of the future.
- Use computers to design, program, and control your own robot
- Work as a team to overcome obstacles and challenges
- Visit Georgia Tech's robotics lab
- Create your own blog
- Learn more about the power of robotics in fighting terrorism, building machines, and solving health crises, including the latest in nanotechnology
- Odyssey Score: PSAT verbal, math, and writing
Final Projects:
- Presentations on robotics research topics

Odyssey Filmers
Concept: Lights, Action, College!
In Odyssey Filmers, you will weave together film studies and videomaking, history, writing, and math for an experience you’ll never forget! You’ll be using video cameras and professional editing software. You’ll examine the history of film and how it has shaped our understanding of key issues. Finally, you’ll be screening and starring in your own short film
In addition, Odyssey Filmers participate in the following coursework on and off campus:
- A three-day out-of-state college trip
- Local college visits
- Odyssey Score: PSAT verbal, math, and writing
- One-on-one meetings with college counselors
- College essay writing
Graduates will broaden their academic horizons and increase their chances of attending the college of their dreams. |

Odyssey U
Concept: Get Ready for College!
At Odyssey U, students participate in a three-day out-of-state college trip, local college visits, SAT prep, meetings with college counselors, and college admissions essay writing. Graduates will hone their skills in order to increase their success rate in the admissions game and prepare for success once they arrive on campus as a college freshman!
Core curriculum for Odyssey U will include the following and more:
- Utilize software to identify colleges of interest
- Learn the ins and outs of the Financial Aid process
- Writers Group: SAT writing, college admissions essay writing
- Odyssey Score: SAT verbal, math, and writing
- Admissions interview role play
- One-on-one meetings with college counselors
The completion of Odyssey U (and Odyssey High!) should bring confidence in graduation and success in the college admissions process. |
